3-12. PNVS TURRET ASSEMBLY INSTALLATION (cont)
18. Move PNVS turret assembly (para 3-3) to get
to second captive mounting screw (22).
NOTE
Have assistant operate the brake control
switch while you turn the PNVS turret
assembly.
a. Look up at the underside of large gear of
azimuth drive gimbal assembly (1).
b. With right hand, turn PNVS turret assembly
(2) in direction of arrow. Stop when second
mounting screw (22) comes into view.
Screw will come into view after two gear
cutouts (23) have passed (about 55° of
PNVS turret assembly rotation).
19. Engage captive mounting screw (22) in
threaded hole and hand tighten screw.
20. Move PNVS turret assembly (2) again to get
to third captive mounting screw (24). The third
screw will come into view after two more gear
cutouts (25) have passed (about 65° of PNVS
turret assembly rotation).
21. Engage captive mounting screw (24) in
threaded hole and hand tighten screw.
22. Move PNVS turret assembly (2) again to get
to fourth captive mounting screw (26). The
fourth screw will come into view just before
PNVS turret assembly stops turning.
23. Engage captive mounting screw (26) in
threaded hole and torque to 30 in-lb.
