3-12. PNVS TURRET ASSEMBLY INSTALLATION (cont)
CAUTION
• Ensure dust cap is on W10P1 cable
connector to prevent damage to connector
when feeding cable and rubber seal through
cavity in top center of aircraft interface
assembly. Exposed TADS optics can be
damaged.
• Damage to the PNVS shroud window can
occur if installed incorrectly. Be sure PNVS
turret is at 45° left of fixed forward position
for installation.
NOTE
Steps 7 through 9 below require three
personnel.
7. Position PNVS turret assembly (2) above
azimuth drive gimbal assembly (1) for
Installation.
a. Hold PNVS turret assembly (2) above
azimuth drive gimbal assembly (1) with
PNVS window cover assembly (9) 45°
left of fixed forward position.
CAUTION
Damaged, bent, or missing alinement pins
may cause damage to the turret assembly and
misalinement of equipment. If discrepancies
are noted remove turret assembly for depot
maintenance repair.
b. Position PNVS turret assembly (2) so that
large and small guide pins (10 and 11) line
up with hole (12) and slot (13) respectively.
