3-11. PNVS TURRET ASSEMBLY REMOVAL (cont)
22. Perform a visual inspection of azimuth drive
gimbal assembly IAW item No. 4 of PMCS
procedures (para 2-7).
CAUTION
Cavity in top center of aircraft interface
assembly must be covered right after PNVS
turret assembly is removed. If not, exposed
TADS optics in cavity will become dirty and
be subject to damage.
23. Install environmental dust cover on azimuth
drive gimbal assembly (36) (para 3-19).
NOTE
If PNVS turret assembly was removed to
remove another assembly, omit step 24 below.
24. Prepare faulty PNVS turret assembly for
packing.
a. Remove connector end of cable (5) from
cable clip (44).
NOTE
Captive screws must hang freely after they
are loosened. Make sure they hang freely.
b. Loosen three captive screws (43).
