3-16. PNVS SHROUD ASSEMBLY INSTALLATION (cont)
5. Check PNVS shroud assembly (9) for
alinement stripes (10). If any stripe is missing,
stencil the stripe (para 2-8).
CAUTION
Do not touch shroud window. Anything on your
hands that gets on window will cause an
unwanted cleaning task. Cleaning too often will
wear away coating on window surface.
6. Perform a visual inspection of PNVS shroud
assembly in accordance with item No. 1 of
PMCS procedures (para 2-7).
CAUTION
Wiring harness must lay as flat as possible
against inner surface of shroud to prevent
chaffing of wires by contact with NSA
components.
7. Press entire length of harness (11) as flat as
possible against inner surface of shroud (9).
8. Position PNVS shroud assembly (9) above
NSA (1).
NOTE
Point (12) is the bottom surface of balance
weight. Point (13) is the PNVS shroud
assembly surface just below bottom edge of
shroud window.
a. Grasp PNVS shroud assembly (9) at point
(12) and point (13). Do not let hand press
against PNVS window cover assembly
(14).
b. Tilt point (12) up 20° to 30°.
c. Hold tilted PNVS shroud assembly (9)
above NSA (1) with PNVS window cover
assembly (14) on same side as elevation
mirror assembly (2).
