CAUTION
• Do not touch surface of elevation afocal lens
when checking position of lens. Anything on
your hands that gets on the lens surface will
cause an unwanted cleaning task. Cleaning
too often will wear away coating on lens
surface.
• Elevation afocal lens must be at its highest
point to prevent damage to lens when
installing PNVS shroud assembly.
• Do not touch any of the mirror assembly
steel bands. The bands might bend or
stretch and cause poor operation.
3. Check that elevation afocal lens (3) is at its
farthest point of upward travel. This is done by
gently applying upward pressure on elevation
afocal lens support (4) until movement stops.
Do not touch any steel bands (5) when
pushing on support (4).
4. Check turret base rim (6) for alinement groove
(7). If groove is missing, mark rim with a felt tip
pen. Line up pen mark with center of alinement
pin (8).
