3-15. PNVS SHROUD ASSEMBLY REMOVAL (cont)
NOTE
Alinement marks (stripe and groove) are used
to aid installation of PNVS shroud assembly.
• If stripe and groove are present, go to step 2
below.
• If groove is missing, go to step 1 below.
• If stripe is missing, refer to para 2-8 and go
to step 2 below.
1. Mark position of PNVS shroud assembly
relative to turret base. Put a vertical mark on
rim of turret base, using a felt tip pen. Line up
pen mark with white alinement stripe painted
on PNVS shroud assembly near the rim.
CAUTION
Use care when lifting PNVS shroud assembly
so that it does not catch on internal parts or
scratch optical surfaces. Remove exactly as
instructed.
2. Lift PNVS shroud assembly (1).
NOTE
Point (2) is the bottom surface of balance
weight. Point (3) is the PNVS shroud assembly
surface just below bottom edge of shroud
window.
a. Grasp PNVS shroud assembly (1) at point
(2) and point (3). Do not let right hand press
against PNVS window cover assembly (4).
b. Lift PNVS shroud assembly (1) straight up
about 1/2 inch. This action separates PNVS
shroud assembly from two alinement pins.
