3-14. PEU ASSEMBLY REPLACEMENT (cont)
WARNING
TRICHLOROETHANE OR ACETONE
• Flammable, toxic, irritating. Can cause
breathing problems, eye damage.
• At 325°F (162.7°C), gives off phosgene gas,
which can cause death or serious injury.
• Don’t: Use near flames or sparks, let it get
on skin, or breathe vapors.
• Do: Use in well-ventilated area, close
containers when not using. Wear acid-type
safety goggles, rubber gloves, and rubber
apron.
• If it contacts skin or eyes, wash affected
areas with running water. Get medical help
at once.
• If you experience any breathing problems,
get to fresh air at once.
4. Prepare mating surfaces for electrical bonding.
a. Clean mating surfaces of mounting bracket
(16) and equipment shelf (14). Use
trichloroethane and cheesecloth.
b. Let surfaces air dry.
c. Clean mating surfaces of mounting bracket
(16) and equipment shelf (14) again. Use
acetone and cheesecloth.
d. Let surfaces air dry.
INSTALLATION
5. Install PEU assembly (1).
a. With guides (17) facing up, place PEU
assembly (1) in front of equipment shelf
(14).
b. Put PEU assembly (1) in equipment shelf
(14) so that guides (17) engage rails (18) in
shelf.
c. Push PEU assembly (1) along rails (18)
until two captive fasteners (13) engage
mounting holes.
d. Torque two captive fasteners (13) to 55 in-
lb.
e. Check that resistance between mounting
brackets (16) and equipment shelf (14)
does not exceed 0.0025 ohms. If resistance
is more than 0.0025 ohms, repeat
procedure.
