5-7. Communication Earplugs, CEP.
Air Force units will reference Technical Orders 14P3-1-151, Air Eye/Respiratory Equipment AERP for HGU-
56/P helmet guidance with chemical equipment. (Reference Army Modification Work Order (MWO) 1-8415-
216-20-1, dated 28 February 2002 for CEP installation instructions). Air Force units have the option to solder
or use electrical tap connectors to connect CEP wires to earphone element wires. For CEP soldering
instructions, see Army MWO 1-8415-216-20-1.
a. Electrical tap connectors, P/N UG20082-ND are used to connect CEP wires to earphone element
wires.
NOTE
Two electrical tap connectors are issued with CEP Kit P/N CEP900-K04A. Additional
electrical tap connectors may be local purchased from Digi-Key Corporation, 701
Brooks Avenue South,Thief River Falls, MN 56701-0677, Phone (800) 344-4539, Ext.
5724 or from Communication/Ear Protection, Inc., P.O. Box 311174, Enterprise, AL

NOTE
Units who do not use the AERP Mask and have no requirement for CEP Extension
Cable, P/N CEP199-X01 may order CEP Kit P/N CEP900-K0A. (See Table 5-3).
Earplugs are not issued with CEP900-K0A and must be ordered separately. See Army
MWO 1-8415-216-20-1 for earplugs size and part number. Units may local purchase
