Standard dual visor assembly (1680-ALSE-200-1)
Removal
NOTE
Ensure that the chinstrap is disengaged
from the D-rings.
This will provide easier
access to the helmet for installation.
1. Loosen the nape strap pad.
2. Detach the earcups from earcup retainer
pads by disengaging hook-and-pile fasteners
and passing them through the retention straps.
Allow earcups to hang by communications
cord.
3. Referring to Figure 4-48, remove
lining, helmet, shock (TPL) from helmet.
4. Referring to Figure 4-49, remove the
pan-head screw, spring washer, and post
fastening the strap assembly, chin to the
center rear of the helmet shell. Retain
the screw, washer, and post for
reassembly.
5. Referring to Figure 4-50, use a spatula
(Item 2, Appendix B) to separate the
hook-and-pile fastener attaching the
lining, helmet, shock (EAL) to the helmet
shell.
6. Following the contour of the helmet shell,
carefully slide the lining, helmet, shock (EAL)
out through the back of the helmet.
NOTE
Removing the lining, helmet, shock (EAL) may re-
quire some practice.
