OUT OF STOW
1. Open leftside fairing assembly (2) by loosening
two captive screws (1).
CAUTION
• All covers must be removed to prevent
jamming when moving turret assembly out of
stow.
• Optics are exposed during this task. Do not
touch or bump optics. Contact with optical
surfaces will cause damage and unwanted
cleaning task. Cleaning too often will wear
away coating on optical surfaces.
NOTE
• Dayside window cover assembly may have
a lanyard that attaches to boresight
protective cover. The lanyard removes
boresight protective cover while removing
dayside window cover assembly.
• Do not separate these two covers after
removal.
• If dayside cover with lanyard is installed,
omit step 2 below.
