Have operator/wearer hold helmet upside down. Insert lining, helmet, shock
(TPL) so that the front edge extends approximately 1/4 past the front edge of
lining, helmet, shock (EAL). Ensure liner is centered in helmet.
Do not deform hot, soft lining, helmet, shock (TPL) by pressing too
hard in any one area when positioning liner in helmet.
Position top of lining, helmet, shock (TPL) in helmet. Position rear of lining,
helmet, shock (TPL) against top edge of, but not down in front of, nape strap
pad while holding nape strap pad keeper strap taut.
Do not remove any plastic layers from the lining, helmet, shock (TPL).
Removal of plastic layers will result in decreased helmet stability
and may cause injury or death.
Do not add loose plastic layers to the lining, helmet, shock (TPL).
Adding loose plastic layers will result in decreased helmet stability
and may cause injury or death.
When donning or removing helmet, spread helmet just enough to
clear head. Excessive spreading may damage helmet.
Have operator/wearer hook
thumbs in earcups and spread hel-
met. Place front of helmet
against the forehead reference
point. Referring to Figure 4-12,
hold the edge of lining, helmet,
shock (TPL) and nape strap pad
with hand and pull down. Have
operatorlwearer don helmet and
rotate helmet rearward.
N O T E
Holding the lining, helmet, shock (TPL) and
the nape strap pad when donning the hel-
met with a heat-softened lining, helmet,
shock (TPL) will prevent the lining, helmet,
shock (TPL) from bunching up in the rear.
