Inspect helmet shell for excess rotation of
boom microphone assembly, which may
indicate elongation of the attachment hole
for the assembly.
REMOVAL
Remove boom microphone swivel
assembly in accordance with TM 11 5965-
79-13&P.
REPAIR
Helmet shell
a.
Abrade one surface of the slotted
Boom microphone
washer and corresponding inside
swivel hole
surface of the helmet shell with
#80grit sandpaper.
b.
Clean both abraded surfaces using
cloth and denatured alcohol. Allow to
dry.
c
Apply thin coating of adhesive to both
abraded surfaces and allow to dry 3 to
5 minutes before applying adhesive
coated side of slotted washer to
corresponding inside surface of
helmet shell.
