a. Description.
The
horizon
reference
indicator is the pilot's basic attitude horizon indicator
and the attitude direction instrument for the flight
director system. Refer to Figure 3A-10.
b. Controls and Functions.
(1) Crossed Needles. Displays computed
steering commands.
(2) Bank Angle Pointer. Indicates aircraft
bank angle.

indicating zero-degree bank.

Scale.
Allows
measurement of aircraft bank angle from 0 to 60°.
(5) Horizon Line. Affixed to sphere,
remains parallel to the earth's horizon at all times.

malfunction within the autopilot computer.
