I. Electrooptic Helmet Sight System (EOHSS) Module (Figure 1-13). The EOHSS
module is designed for use with the Apache helicopter. Sensors (6) on both sides of
the sensor assembly unit, or SAU (7), enable the EOHSS to interface with the
Apache aircraft systems. The EOHSS is equipped with a single visor assembly, or
(SVA), with neutral gray visor (1), an SVA with a clear visor (2) or the standard dual
visor assembly. The EOHSS also has a helmet shell subassembly (3) with an adapter
assembly (4) that attaches the Integrated Helmet and Display Sighting System
(IHADSS) Helmet Display Unit (HDU) to the helmet. The IHADSS HDU displays
control-panel and video information in front of the crewmembers eye. This enables
the crewmember to monitor this information while looking through the windshield. A
specially designed earcup shell (5) allows room for the HDU adapter. The EOHSS
module is accountable as unit MTOE property.

m. Restrictor, Vision (Figure 1-14). Attached to the dual visor housing, the restrictor,
vision is used in flight training. It blocks the crewmembers side vision, thus forcing
the crewmember to focus on the instrument panel.
