12. Referring to Figure 4-70, install
moleskin patches (supplied in the
Hardware Kit, Mech.) on the inside
of the housing in the pattern shown.
13. Align housing over bushings that
protrude upward through tracks,
and install the thumbscrews
through visor housing and bushings.
14. Position visor housing assembly on
helmet, and start four thumbscrews
into helmet to attach visor assembly
as shown in Figure 4-71. After
all four thumbscrews are started,
tighten them.
15. Referring to Figure 4-72, attach two 2-inch
x 3-inch pile fastener pieces (supplied
in the Hardware Kit, Mech.) and one
piece of 1-inch x 1 1/2-inch pile

Position the two 2-inch x 3-inch pile
fastener pieces to the rear of the helmet
as shown, and mark the area with a pencil
(item 15 Appendix E), and then position
one (1-inch x 1 1/2-inch) pile fastener
b. Clean the marked area using sopropyl
alcohol pads (Item 12 Appendix E).
c. Apply a thin coating of adhesive
(Item 2, Appendix E) to the
marked area as shown.
Allow the adhesive to dry
until tacky (approximately 1-2
minutes).
d. Affix the pile fastener pieces to
the adhesive. Apply pressure
to the entire pile fastener area
to ensure a good bond.
16. Install the ANVIS goggles
(Figure 4-73) in accordance with
TM 11-5855-263-10.
17. Perform a continuity check of the
ANVIS goggles in accordance with
TM 11-5855-263-10.

piece to the left side of the helmet,
centered between the rear ear dome edge
and the communication wire and up
1-inch from helmet edge beading, and mark
the area with a pencil (item 15 Appendix E).
With the exception of the 3 pile fasteners
there will be no other stickers or self
adhesive items of any kind authorized on the HUG-
56/P helmet shell or dual visor assembly housing.
