CONTROLS AND INDICATORS
INTRODUCTION AND SCOPE
Before attempting to operate the Aviation Mission Planning System (AMPS), be sure to familiarize yourself with
the controls, indicators, and connectors described in this work package. This manual does not attempt to describe
the features and operation of the AMPS software or of the Microsoft Windows operating system. For more
information and instructions on software, please review the electronic help available within these packages. See
the Mission Planning Pocket Guide, SED-AMPS-MMPG-001, for detailed use of the Aviation Mission Planning
System.
PORTABLE COMPUTER UNIT (PCU)
Figure 1 illustrates the controls and indicators located on the front of the Portable Computer Unit (PCU) with a
brief description of each of their functions.

Power Panel

Peripheral Bays
Bays contain the DVD/CD, Hard Disk Drive, Batteries, and 1.44 MB Floppy
Disk Drive. Refer to Figure 8 for details on each component contained in the
peripheral bays.

Speaker
Provides audio information to the operator

Provides visual information to the operator.
