been selected with the left outer knob, the page
number is selected by rotating the left inner knob.
The right side operates in a similar manner. The
navigation pages are available on both sides. The
remainder of the page types are different. Refer to
Table 3-2.
Only the right inner knob has both an in and an
out position. With the knob pushed in, it works exactly
as the left inner knob. In the out position, it performs a
waypoint scan function. The usual position for the
right inner knob is the in position.
(2) Waypoint Data Entry.
1. Press cursor to turn on the cursor
function.
2. Rotate the outer knob to position the
cursor in the desired location. The
location will vary. Waypoint identifiers
will be in different places on the page
depending on the type page selected.
3. Rotate the inner knob to select the
first
character
of
the
waypoint
identifier.
4. Move
the
outer
knob
one
step
clockwise to move the cursor to the
second character position.
5. Rotate the inner knob to select the
second character.
6. Use the outer and inner knobs in this
manner until the complete waypoint
identifier is displayed.
