BEFORE STARTING ENGINES (CONT)
CAUTION
Movement of the power levers into REVERSE range while the
engines are shut down may result in bending and damage to
control linkage.
a.
Power levers - IDLE.

b.
Propeller levers - HIGH RPM.
c.
Condition levers - FUEL CUT- OFF.
d.
Flap lever - UP.
e.
Friction locks - Check and set.
12. Pedestal extension switches - Set as follows:
a.
Flare/chaff dispenser control - SAFE.
b.
Avionics - As required.
c.
Rudder boost switch - ON.
13.
Gear alternate extension and ratchet handles - Stowed.
*14.
Free air temperature gauge - Check condition. Note current reading.
15.
Pilots' instrument panel - Check and set.
a.
Course indicator switch - As required.
b.
RMI switch - As required.
