OVERVIEW
This section contains procedures for standard maintenance operations which are the responsibility of
aviation unit maintenance (AVUM) personnel. The maintenance operations covered are those
authorized for AVUM by the maintenance allocation chart (MAC) and by source, maintenance, and
recoverability (SMR) coded items listed in the supply manual. Each procedure provides step-by-step
instructions in the order in which the work is most logically accomplished. Any unusual or critical steps
are covered in detail.
