Be sure radio set antenna is installed and telescopic sections fully extended before operating
radio set. Failure to do so can damage radio operating capabilities.

Check receiver operation by releasing the antenna from stored position. Fully extend telescopic
sections.

Set function switch to either VOICE 282.8 or VOICE/MCW 243.0.
