FOLIAGE PENETRATING SIGNAL KIT.
The signal kit consists of a rocket launcher and seven red flares. Flares can reach an altitude of 1100 feet when fired
and have a burning time of 9 seconds. Flares are visible for 2 or 3 miles in daylight and for up to 10 miles at night. To
use the flares, proceed as follows:
WARNING
Do not point a loaded launcher at personnel. Distress flares burn at a temperature of 5000
degrees F and can cause serious burns or death.

Remove flare from plastic retainer and insert flare into launcher.
