CHAPTER I
INTRODUCTION
1. SCOPE
Section I. GENERAL
a. These instructions are published for the information
and guidance of operating and maintenance personnel to
whom the maintenance platform is assigned. They con-
tain information on the operation, lubrication, detail
preventive maintenance services, and maintenance of
the equipment; they also contain packing, preservation,
storing, and shipping procedures. Also included is the ap-
plicable repair parts and special tools lists.
c. Reporting of Improvements. Report of errors,
omissions, and recommendations for improving this
publication by the individual user is encouraged. Reports
should be submitted on DA Form 2028 (Recommended
Changes to DA Publications) and forwarded directly to:

3. DESCRIPTION.
5. TABULATED DATA.
The maintenance platform type B-1 (figure 1) is a
single, variable-height, portable stair structure and plat-
form assembly. The maintenance platform is a
hydraulically-operated, adjustable ladder with a work
platform that enables a serviceman to work in safety at
various heights.

This manual covers only the type B-1 maintenance
platform.
