TAXIING

Brakes- Check.

NOTE
If brakes have been overhauled they
should be "burned-in" by applying near
maximum braking (short of locking) for
one or two landings or high speed taxi
runs. After this, brakes should be
checked for any tendency to drag.

Flight instruments - Check settings

and operation.

Nosewheel steering Check. No turning
tendency
should
exist
while
taxiing
straight ahead with the same RPM on
both engines with no braking and no
rudder applied to either side. (This check
must be performed with minimum cross
wind.) Check freedom of movement and
ability to turn aircraft using rudder pedals,
engines and brakes. Note any indication
of nosewheel vibration or shimmy during
takeoff or landing.

Magnetic compass - Check for

freedom of movement.
