TM 10-8415-206-12&P2-3. OPERATING PROCEDURE-Continuede.Headband Suspension Adjustment.NOTEThis adjustment loosens or tightens the headband. To obtainmaximum helmet retention and for stability, the headbandshould be tightened untilsnug around the head. Be certain thebuckles (one on each side) are vertical or at right angles to thesuspension when making this adjustment.(1) ToTighten:(a) Pull on free end of strap (1) in the adjustment buckle(2).(b) Pull on free end of other strap (1) in adjustment buckle(2).(c) Repeat steps (a) and (b) until headband fits snuglyaround the head.(2) ToLoosen:(a) Slide lockbar (1) towards back of adjustment buckle(2).(b) Push free end of strap (3) towards rear of adjustmentbuckle (2).(c) Repeat steps (a) and (b) to loosen other adjustmentbuckle (4).(d) Repeat steps (a), (b) and (c) until headband fitsproperly.Change 22-11
