The pilot's and copilot's seats are equippedwith laptype seat belts and shoulder harnessesconnected to an inertia reel. The shoulder harness beltis of the Y configuration with the single strap beingcontained in an inertia reel attached to the base of theseatback. The two straps are worn with one strap overeach shoulder and fastened by metal loops into the seatbelt buckle. The spring loading at the inertia reel keepsthe harness snug but will allow normal movementrequired during flight operations. The inertia reel isdesigned with a locking device that will secure theharness in the event of sudden forward movement or animpact action.Section II.EMERGENCY EQUIPMENT2-12. DESCRIPTION.The equipment covered in this section includes allemergency equipment, except that which forms part of acomplete system.
